ART for Research

Demetrius Williamson founded Research Class in 2019 as a creative endeavor with multiple functions and a space that evolves through publishing, art, screenwriting, photography, materials, and research. ART for Research is the second iteration in Research Class history, broadening access to a global audience of art lovers.

Established in 2024, ART for Research is one of Williamson’s artistic empowerments. It is a contemporary landing space for his art collections, screenplays, and publishings. The primary function is to bind the space between the collector [the consumer] and the artist. Art for Research reemphasizes the idea that creative works do not have to settle on social constructs from traditional formalities. Using his various works and collections, Art of Research showcases feeling, energy, and excellence to be transferred to the collector, the consumer, the human, the empath.

A survey of DW’s professional repertoire illustrates his range. I’d describe his journey as one of renaissance. From the first conversation, he shows confidence in his abilities and as a continual learner. I'm always curious about what comes next from him.

About Demetrius Williamson

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Demetrius Williamson is an artist, screenwriter, publisher, author, marketing professional, and former professional athlete, inspired by many arts and cultural initiatives from around the world.

His journey began with an athletic foundation, as he traveled the world at a young age while playing organized basketball, from Europe to Australia. He continued playing collegiately at NCAA Division I institutions, including the University of Missouri and Niagara University (NY), before finishing a short professional playing stint in China.

Beyond the basketball court, his business professional background includes a decade at Union Pacific Railroad in Portland, Oregon, with time spent in Oakland, California, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Omaha, Nebraska. Extending his multi-faceted nature while in Portland, DW established working relationships throughout Nike & Jordan Brand.

As an author & publisher, Williamson released “A Book That I Would Read” in 2021. As a screenwriter, he has eleven (11) registered screenplays. As a visual artist and contemporary painter, he has amassed numerous art pieces with two collections, “A Game in the Alley” as his debut, and "Alley Ball is NOT Monolithic."

The drive of an athlete’s mindset remains the cornerstone of my foundation though the passion expands through art, film, fashion, photography, and music. My personality and sophistication outfit creative projects, favorable for intense and driven conversations. My natural business acumen absorbs a healthy obsession for discovery. Am I a forever learner? Yes! The enthusiasm is to merge producing diversified and culturally-driven projects with work that creates the best work of our lives!
